1. Finances – billing structures and program cost analysis

Action Steps 2016-2017

· Met with all school districts and supervisors of programs to gain input and review cost effectiveness

· Completed the High Performing ESC evaluation for the Ohio Department of Education in order to be identified high performing to receive the maximum amount of state funding. Our ESC was identified as HP for FY 16-17 school year

· Identified new process for billing structures that will be implemented in the FY 17-18 school year

· Engaged in healthcare consortium quotes to reduce health care costs

· Applied for additional grants and reviewed opportunities for additional federal funding- ex. 21st Century grant application, Title 1 D neglected funds, etc.

· Reduced costs for ESC operating expenses in general fund

· Revised cell phone policy in order to reduce costs for ESC and school districts

2. Communication/Public Relations

Action Steps 2016-2017

· Met with all school superintendents monthly to gain feedback and build relationships.

· Supported the Geauga/Lake collaborative and planning meetings, as well as facilitated state/local superintendent updates

· Supported the county in delivering presentations and making public appearances when requested ex. Senior Citizens night in West Geauga, community forums, Geauga Growth Partners and Prime Partners of Geauga County meetings/presentations, state report card series, etc.

· Created three GCESC newsletters to showcase our programs, schools, and services.

· Initiated the professional development collaborative with Lake and Summit counties – see professional development and meeting offerings catalogue (Learning Alliance catalogue)

· Assigned staff to support the GCESC website and monitor/implement updates

3. Professional Development and Staffing Analysis

Action Steps 2016-2017

· Created a new evaluation system and evaluated all central office staff at the GCESC in the 2016-2017 school year. Each staff member set goals and had a summative evaluation completed by May 2017

· Restructured staff for cost effectiveness and educational needs in Geauga County

· Created job descriptions and identified new staff roles/responsibilities

· Initiated utilizing public school works to support staff needs and meet state/federal requirements

· Hired staff based on district requests and worked with other ESC’s to hire shared staffing to reduce costs
